Benefits of Thermography
What is Thermography?
Thermography is a state-of-the-art imaging technique that uses infrared technology to detect heat patterns and blood flow in your body. By identifying abnormal thermal patterns, we can provide valuable insights into your health long before symptoms arise.
Why Choose Thermography?
Non-Invasive: No radiation, no contact – just clear, precise images.
Safe: Ideal for women seeking an alternative to traditional methods.
Early Detection: Spot potential issues before they become serious.
Holistic Approach: Supports a comprehensive health and wellness plan.
With thermography, you’re not just getting a screening – you’re investing in a proactive approach to your health.
What is Thermography?
Thermography uses an infrared camera to capture detailed images of the heat patterns in your body. These images can help identify abnormalities by highlighting changes in blood flow and thermal variations, offering a comprehensive view of your health without any physical contact or radiation exposure.
How Does Thermography Work?
During a thermography session, a specialized infrared camera captures thermal images of your body. These images are then analyzed to detect abnormal heat patterns or changes. The process is quick, comfortable, and completely non-invasive.
Is Thermography Safe?
Absolutely. Thermography is a safe and gentle alternative to traditional diagnostic methods. It involves no radiation or physical contact, ensuring your comfort and safety at all times.
Does Thermography Replace Mammography?
It does not because they are NOT the same type of exam. While mammography uses X-rays to look at the internal structure of the breast, thermography provides information on heat and blood flow patterns. Thermography is an amazing adjunct test even for a mammogram. If you have dense breast, adding thermography to your annual mammogram routine can be of great benefit. In addition, adding Thermography to an ultrasound health check can provide a more comprehensive view of breast health, helping to inform further diagnostic decisions.
Who Reads the Images Taken During My Thermography Session?
The images captured during your thermography session are reviewed by a certified thermography specialist. These professionals are trained to analyze thermal patterns and provide detailed reports on your health. Dr. Robyn Croutch will then review the images with you.
What Should I Expect During My First Thermography Appointment?
Your first appointment will be straightforward and relaxed. You will be guided to a private room where the thermography process will take place. The imaging itself is quick, usually lasting between 15 to 30 minutes, and you will receive a detailed report of your results in a 5-7 days????.
How Long Does a Thermography Session Last?
Most thermography sessions are completed within 15 to 30 minutes. This includes the time needed for imaging and any necessary preparation.
What Should I Wear to My Thermography Appointment?
What to Wear:
Loose-fitting clothes and no jewelry around the neck. Underwear is optional and best results are without.
At the Time of the Study: You will be asked to disrobe—removing clothing (where appropriate) and jewelry. If doing breast and chest exam, you will be asked to remove all clothing from the waist up. For full body exams, you will be asked to remove all clothing for best results. You will be asked to stay undressed for 5-10 minutes upon your arrival to allow your body to acclimate and prevent false positive heat patterns.
You will be in a private setting so rest assured you will be comfortable during the acclimation period as well during the exam. Thermography is performed by female certified clinical thermographers and is completely private. There are no risks and no side effects.

I Am a Cancer Survivor. Will Thermography Help Me Monitor My Breast Health?
Yes, thermography can be a valuable tool for monitoring breast health after a cancer diagnosis. It can help track changes over time and complement other monitoring methods. However, always consult with your health care provider to determine the best approach for your specific situation.
If There Are Findings in My Imaging, Will the Reading Doctor Diagnose Me?
Thermography provides valuable information about your thermal patterns, but it is not a diagnostic tool. If any abnormalities are detected, you will be referred to a medical professional for further evaluation and diagnosis.
Will Thermography Help Me Prevent Cancer?
While thermography can aid in early detection and monitoring, it is not a preventive tool on its own. It should be used as part of a comprehensive health strategy, including regular check-ups and a healthy lifestyle.
